Happy Chinese New Year! It started on the third, but we were too busy to post until now. But it goes on for two whole weeks! Over those two weeks Yang's Chinese birthday will be celebrated. Right now, Yang and I are making bracelets and lanterns, to start off the New Year! Chinese New Year, also know as the Lunar New Year. We get little red envelopes with money in them. Yang and I have been wearing our school uniforms all the time when we're out of school. And soon we will change into our red jackets. At the end celebration we wear our fancy dresses. I think Yang has the prettiest. Then we go do a performance in them. we sing, dance, and go to the big parade. It all very wonderful.
We went out to get these really cute matching Chinese charm bracelets yesterday. They have all of the zodiac animals on it, and crystal rings. Now we show the pictures! The dresses have those Shopping Advertisments on them because that was the place we got them from.

Our Studies In Korea Will Be Wonderful ~ Lin Miao Ke (part two)

The parents of the family choose our surnames. They decide on what they think of the child. Like, how they thought Yang was a peaceful child. So she got Ahn.

The needle points to M.

Mee- Kyong ~

Kim ~

Kim is pronouced Keem. Kim means 'gold'. I am considered gold to my parents.

Our Studies In Korea Will Be Wonderful ~ Yang Pei Yi (part one)

When we go back to China , we are planning to stop for a few weeks in Korea, for our study benefits. Then we will head to Peking. Today we picked our Korean names. First we got our our character compass; a compass with which the directions are replaced with the Chinese characters. Shūshu made it for us in his clockwork store in China. It has been in my possession for a long time.  This is how our families originally chose their names when they went to foreign countries. First, the family gets to choose which way you hold it, and the number of times you turn, either left or right. The character the needle points to determines what letter your new name will start with. But you get to choose your own name.

My name Pei Yi means:
 Pei ~
It is pronounced PEY †.  The meaning of Pei is 'teach'.

Yi ~
Yi is pronounced as YIY †. Yi is of the meaning gift, appearance; rite.

My surname Yang means:

Yang ~

Yang is pronounced Yáng. The meaning of Yang is 'sun'.

The needle landed on S. I chose Sun-hee

Sun-hee means 'the girl of brightness'. Like the sun.

Kim~

The same as Lin's.

Lin wears the hat that Yang made her.
We went to the mall again, and Yang and I got to wear our Chinese Primary School uniforms. We also went to a Chinese restaurant and used chopsticks. Yang not in the pictures because she took them, and she does not like the flash.

Food Can Be Wonderful

Panda Bread
Today, Lin and I went to the Asian Market. We got some Panda Cake and bread. Panda Cakes we will eat tonight, save some for some other days, Panda Bread we will use for sandwiches tomorrow.
Yang and I also went to the mall and got some Japanese Strawberry Soda. Yang did not like hers, so I drank it for her. Believe it or not, we are still making the origami cranes. But  will be done soon.

Friends Can Be Wonderful

Lin and Yang in 2009
Yang and I are looking at pictures of colorful things, so we can print them out and turn them into origami paper. So then they will not just be solid colors. We are listening to Amber Kuo right now. We like her music. It almost lunch time. I think Yang and I are going to have noodles, as soon as her Mama comes back from the food store. We saw a boy with a really bad haircut when we went outside. Yang told me he was someone she knew from school, who she wished she didn't know.     Lin and I are sending messages to our friend Huiliang, which means good and nice, which basically describes her personality. My photo paper printer is running out of ink. So until Baba buys new ink, I can't print out any of my pictures for Lin. I can see the school from where I live. Lin won't be able to go to school with Huiliang and I, she has to be home schooled while she lives in America. Tonight we are going to watch a Chinese drama. I hope it will be good. Bye for now,Yang and Lin
